“Melody as a performer possesses a kind of guileless joy that flicks between extremely cool and endearingly goofy” – Pantograph-punch
I Know What I’m Doing
Winner of the Basement Theatre Disruptor Award, Auckland Fringe 2020.
Do I do good things because I’m a good person, or do I just want to look good in front of others?
I Know What I’m Doing is an experimental, tender and funny piece that tackles some of life’s biggest questions. Part performance art, part dance, part existential mayhem. This solo show seeks to examine what it means to be human.
What makes a good person? Where do we derive our sense of self-worth from? What is the root cause of irrational thinking patterns, and can we ever get out of them?
“Everything is glaringly earnest, and you will probably laugh in pure self-recognition” – Theatreview
“A stream of consciousness gathered into a controlled ball of energy and unleashed onto the stage” – Theatre scenes
